Spring plungers from KIPP
HEINRICH KIPP WERK also has spring plunger in its wide range of diverse operating parts. They are used for simple light clamping and indexing tasks. By KIPP you can find spring plungers with balls, spring plungers with pins and lateral spring plunger. KIPP offers a wide range of different types of spring plungers. They differ in material, size, colour and area of application, among other things. |
Spring plungers - Material differences
Spring plungers are available in a variety of materials to ensure the widest possible range of applications. It should be noted that in many models the entire spring plunger is not made of the same material, but the sleeve and ball or pin are made of different materials. The combination of different materials creates a wide range of different versions from which the appropriate product for the respective application can be selected. |
Plastic components have the advantage that the products are very light and inexpensive. They are characterised by their corrosion resistance and are therefore also suitable for outdoor applications or where they can come into contact with spray water or high humidity. |
Spring plungers with steel sleeves or balls are designed for applications where greater forces or harsh conditions act on the product. Due to being made from steel, the components are very robust and also temperature resistant. This means that there is nothing to stop it being used in higher temperature ranges. |
Stainless steel spring plungers
By spring plungers that have stainless steel parts, the advantages lay in the corrosion resistance of the sleeves and balls. They are also temperature resistant and slightly lighter than comparable models made of steel. This makes them suitable not only for high temperature areas, but they can also be used outdoors without any problems. |
At KIPP, only the ball of the spring plunger is ceramic. These have the advantage that they are very temperature-resistant and resistant to chemicals. Furthermore, they exhibit low wear and are therefore suitable for applications with high cycle rates. |
In the KIPP range you will find Sie spring plungers and lateral spring plungers. While spring plungers are mainly used for simple light clamping and indexing tasks, lateral spring plungers are mostly used just for light clamping tasks. Spring plungers are available with balls or pins. Due to the applications, lateral spring plungers on the other hand are only available with thrust pins. Spring plungers are manufactured by KIPP according to standards, and are therefore available in the conventional sizes M5, M6, M8, M10 and M12. |
Spring plungers simply installed - screwed-in or pressed-in
Both versions are available for press-fitting and with a thread for screwing in. Also available are spring plungers with thread lock. They prevent the plunger from unscrewing by itself and thus fulfil the same function as a liquid screw lock. The thread lock differs however, in that the thread being secured has a notch in which there is an elastically deformable nylon insert that prevents it from unscrewing by itself. There are several options available for screwing in. In addition to the conventional slot, there are also products with a hex socket to accept a hex key available. With both screw variants, the spring plungers are screwed into a hole from below. There are in-house produced models for blind holes. These are screwed into the holes using a special key. |
The spring force of the plungers is what counts
KIPP offers spring plungers with different spring forces to suit the subsequent application. Depending on the forces acting on the workpiece during machining, it makes sense to select a correspondingly strong spring force. The respective strengths are indicated by the individual products. |
In the KIPP range you will find spring plungers with balls and spring plungers with pins. They are suitable for different applications depending on the model. Balls are very suitable for simple light clamping and indexing tasks. Pins, on the other hand, are more commonly used as ejector pins to push objects back out of something. |
Spring plungers – multiple deployment
Due to the large variety of different material combinations, spring plungers from KIPP are suitable for almost all areas and applications. While in household appliances they are used in rotary controls of washing machines, in the automotive sector they are used in beverage holders or control elements.
In industry, spring plungers are also used as ejector pins for ejecting objects. As lateral spring plungers, they assist machining processes by enabling workpieces to be quickly and easily fixated and released.
